Boredom

I suffer from it. As a person stuck in school, I suppose it's inevitable, but it seems to me that it happens more often than it needs to. This forces me to make up ways to keep myself entertained, or at the very least occupied.
In elementary school, one of the favorite ways to relieve boredom was to play games, (surprise surprise) and the most common game played was masho. I remember spending countless recesses with my friends, throwing together random combinations of the weirdest kind, ending up with the silliest futures. Another game was Would You Rather? Here you would choose from two choices which you would rather do. The fun part was making up the nastiest/unthinkable/craziest choices.
And, of course, there was the classic Truth or Dare. Always most interesting in a group of mixed gender. (*implying that this particular game wasn't confined to elementary school*)
Another favorite way of mine to escape the doldrums is daydreaming. I usually place myself into a scene I've memorized from a favorite book, although sometimes excursions with celebrities can sneak in there (*cough* Orlando Bloom *cough cough*). Doodling is handy too, although I can never really just let my pen flow, I have to pick something to draw, to concentrate on.
And letters! I can't tell you how much I'm into writing letters. Just writing them, mind, I rarely give them to the person I write to. It's just having someone to talk to, having an objective, that motivates me. Sometimes these letters are actual letters, with relevant topics and are interesting to read, but sometimes they're vent letters. I'm the type who can't bottle up feelings very easily, and I don't want to complain to people because they don't care, so I write. I release everything into these letters, with complete honesty (which has been a disaster the couple times the letters were found). And then, of couse, there's the letters into which I release my randomness <3>
Anyways, these are a few ways I try to banish boredom.
Oh, and posting on here, too :)

Christmas....ahhh, it's come around again. I wait for Christmas time all year, and when it's here it's over all too soon. And the snow! Oh, what a wonderful white Christmas it was, I love watching snow fall. Of course, it was less frivolous than previous years, due to the economy and such, but nonetheless I had a great day. Next Monday is my birthday, too, so you see why I love December so much hehe.
And now there's a new year coming up fast upon us. *sigh*
I always feel the need to make resolutions, and usually do, but what I also usually end up doing is finding these resolutions anywhere from two weeks to three months later and laughing at how high-minded I was. This year, though, I'm feeling inspired! So cliche, but I really am. I have an attainable resolution with reasonable restrictions, expectations, and exceptions.
Now all I have to do is keep the resolution. Always the hardest part.
Also coming back around is school. Doom commences on January fifth, and with school comes...the dance. *dun dun dunnnn*
On Saturday January tenth, five days after school resumes, the wonderful administration has decided to force upon us a social must-attend to make us feel more excited about going back to that prison. And I do mean must. Even if my friends weren't going to drag me there, I pretty much have to go, because not going is committing social suicide. In a school as small as mine, people notice who is and isn't there. And I also happen to like dressing up, a small bright spot on this ever-darkening horizon.
After that, the semester's over around the end of January, which of course means finals *growls quietly to self*
*sighs* I am trying to be cheerful, though, it is that time of year :)
